Threats Against Freedom

Warning people about the covert criminal use of technology on a mass scale

Electronic wireless tags

Technology can be used in criminal ways, against the freedom of individuals.

Dark clouds arise to the horizon of the evolution of the human civilization. The following technologies are only a glimpse of what is to come. Nano-technology is barely making its way into the world, but give it time and you'll see it used for criminal purposes at unbelievable scale.

You may want to see the good uses of technology here.

Through-clothes scanners

A technology for scanning the human body, basically to see under the clothes, with or without your consent and knowledge, in real-time.

For more information about this kind of scanners you can read this FAQ.

Governments want to use the technology in: airports, subways, courtrooms, embassies, sports arenas, concert halls, museums, commercial buildings, and prisons.

There already are hand-held devices like these. Not only that, but it is planned for police forces to use them in a hidden manner.

What is worse is that people who are asked to go through these scanners are not told what they are.

If you want to see what people are subjected to, see here (the public beginnings of airport deployment), here (a man is legally investigated because he refused to go through a scanner and chose to not fly), and here (thousands of pictures from these scanners were saved out of the scanners).

Intimacy issues aside, the question is do these scanners even protect people from terrorists? They don't because they can't see inside the body (and in-body scanning would kill more people with radiation than bombs would). Here is such an attack.

Here is a business opportunity for making lead-padded fabric!

Electronic wireless tags

At this time they are not used on a large scale, but it's planned so.

The only way, so far, to protect yourself from your wireless electronic ID emitting its identification signal is to put it in a metallic case (so that its radio signal is jammed). For the tags embedded in other products, like clothes, they have to be removed from the product.

Read more here.

An electronic wireless tag is a small radio transmitter which is embedded in various products and in government issued IDs. They are used to track (the movements of) the products in which they are embedded, and with them, (of) the buyer / owner of the products.
